喷雾冷却技术及其应用钛基、镍基等高温合金和高强度合金钢等难加工材料的大量应用,给切削加工带来了很大的困难。由于切削时产生的大量切削热不能及时散发,不仅使切削刀具的耐用度降低,而且难以保证工件的精度和表面粗糙度,严重时甚至无法切削。因此,降低切削热对于难加工材料的加工具有重要意义。对于一般材料的切削加工而言,如何提高切削效率、延长刀具寿命也是人们一直努力解决的问题。特别是在重型车削、铣削加工中,如果能使切削效率提高一倍,则相当于价格昂贵的重型机床增加了一倍,也就是说,在不增加固定资产投资的情况下,使生产能力翻了一番。而刀具寿命的延长,降低了刀具费用的消耗,使得生产成本得以降低。刀具在工作过程中的冷却与润滑是解决上述问题的有效手段 在工作过程中,有无冷却润滑、冷却润滑的方式对刀具耐用度、切削效率及加工精度等的提高有很大影响。近年来,工业发达国家在金属切削过程中应用喷雾冷却技术,为切削加工提供了新的冷却技术的选择。目前,除部分进口机床采用了喷雾冷却技术外,国内其它机床上应用较少。本文结合我国国情,对生产实践中应用该项技术进行分析并提出了改进措施。1.喷雾冷却的机理切削液在金属切削中主要起两个作用,一是润滑作用;二是冷却作用。切削液能否充分发挥有效的润滑作用,其渗透能力强弱是一个重要的因素。常规的浇注式切削液在切削加工中的渗透以液体渗透和气体渗透两种方式进行:浇注的液体渗透效率较低,在高速切削时效率更低;气体渗透是由于浇注在切屑表面裂纹中的液体随着切削温度的上升发生汽化而向前刀面进行渗透的。试验证明,常规切削液的渗透能力不强,能够被汽化的液体量很少,使润滑效果受到限制。而喷雾冷却形成的两相流体,能够弥补切削液渗透能力的不足。气液两相流体喷射到切削区时,有较高的速度,动能较大,因此渗透能力较强。此外,在气液两相射流中微量液体的尺寸很小,遇到温度较高的金属极易汽化,可从多个方面向刀具前刀面渗透。虽然射流中的液体量很少,但被汽化的部分则比连续浇注切削液时多,因而润滑效果较好。在金属加工中切削热主要来源于金属的塑性变形,切削区的冷却过程就是固体与流体之间的传热过程。由于流体与固体分子之间的吸引力和流体粘度作用,在固体表面就有一个流体滞流层,从而增加了热阻。滞流层越厚,热阻越大,而滞流层的厚度主要取决于流体的流动性即粘度。粘度小的流体冷却效果比粘度大的流体冷却效果好。
