铜镜铜镜bronzemirror古代用青铜制作的用以照容的生活用具。正面光洁可照影，背面多铸出花纹，既实用，又是精美的工艺美术品。世界古代铜镜分为两大系统：西亚、埃及、希腊、罗马的为圆形带长柄铜镜，目前发现最早的，是伊拉克的基什遗址出土的公元前2900～前2700年的铜镜。中国铜镜为圆形，背有钮，以便系带，目前发现最早的是青海省贵南县尕马台出土的齐家文化七角星纹镜，距今约4000年。中国铜镜的大量使用始于战国时期，当时主要有蟠螭纹镜及四山纹镜等，还出现了错金银镜。至汉代，铜镜开始有了铭文，如“常相思，毋相忘”、“长宜子孙”等，并有了纪年铭镜。汉代铜镜主要有日光镜、昭明镜、博局纹（或称规矩纹）镜、神兽镜及画像镜等。尤其是高达1.12米的长方形穿衣镜及能反照出镜背花纹的透光镜的出现，反映出当时铸镜工艺的高度水平。隋唐时期铜镜的发展达到高峰，除圆形镜外，出现了葵花形、菱花形及带柄铜镜。按花纹分，主要有四神镜、瑞兽葡萄镜、月宫镜、盘龙镜等。还出现采用金银平脱、嵌螺钿等工艺的精美铜镜。到宋代，铜镜开始衰落。此时主要有缠枝花卉镜、双龙镜等，有柄镜大增。镜上出现了类似商标的铭记，如“湖州真石家念二叔照子”（当时因避讳，曾称铜镜为照子）等。元明时期铜镜制作粗糙。清代以后铜镜逐渐被玻璃镜取代。中国铜镜曾大量输往日本、朝鲜等国，在古代中外文化交流中占有重要地位。
