铁合金铁合金ferroalloy铁与一种或几种元素组成的合金。各种元素多呈游离态存在。通常还把炼钢用不含铁元素的中间合金也称为铁合金，如硅钙合金、硅铬合金等。铁合金性脆，不能作为金属材料使用，主要用作钢铁冶炼过程中的脱氧剂、合金添加剂和孕育剂，以及生产其他合金和有色金属的还原剂和添加剂等。常用的铁合金有：①锰铁。锰和铁组成的铁合金。由锰矿石、石灰石、白云石、焦炭等冶炼而成，外观呈深灰色，带有蓝黄色光彩，硬度大。按含碳量分为低碳（含碳0.5％）、中碳（含碳0.5％～1.0％）和碳素（含碳7.0％）锰铁，锰含量根据牌号不同在65％～75％之间。用作炼钢的脱氧剂和合金添加剂。②硅铁。铁和硅组成的铁合金，又称矽铁。由硅石、钢屑和焦炭冶炼而成。灰色，带有孔洞。常用的有硅90（含硅≥87.95％）、硅75（含硅≥72％～80％）、硅45（含硅≥40％～47％）。主要用作炼钢的脱氧剂和合金添加剂；还用作铸造、选矿、焊条和冶炼某些金属的还原剂。③铬铁。铬和铁组成的铁合金。由铬矿石、焦炭和硅石冶炼而成。分为微碳、低碳、中碳和碳素铬铁。用作炼钢的合金添加剂。铬能提高钢的淬透性，在渗碳时使钢的表面硬度增高。微碳铬铁用于炼制不锈钢、耐热钢及各种电热元件材料；低、中碳铬铁用于炼制合金结构钢；碳素铬铁用于炼制含碳量高的钢。④钒铁。钒和铁组成的铁合金。在电炉内还原五氧化二钒制得。常用的是含钒40％、60％、80％的钒铁。主要用作炼钢的合金添加剂，以净化钢水，提高钢的组织致密性、韧性、弹性和强度。⑤钼铁。钼和铁组成的铁合金。由含钼矿石在电炉中冶炼而成。一般含钼50％～60％。用作熔炼含钼合金钢和合金铸铁的添加剂。⑥钨铁。钨和铁组成的铁合金。由钨砂在电炉中冶炼而成。比重大、熔点高（达2600℃以上）。常用的是含钨70％和80％的钨铁。用作熔炼切削工具钢、高速钢及其他含钨钢种的合金添加剂。⑦钛铁。钛和铁组成的铁合金。以氧化钛为原料，用铝热法炼制而成。是炼钢的强烈脱氧剂和除气剂。但因其价格昂贵，多作为炼钢的合金添加剂。钛铁还可用作电焊条药皮。⑧稀土铁合金。稀土元素与铁组成的铁合金，还含有硅、锰、钨、钛等元素。以稀土高炉渣为原料炼制而成。分为稀土硅铁合金和硅铁稀土镁合金，前者用作熔炼钢和铸铁的合金添加剂；后者用作熔炼球墨铸铁的球化剂。
