近义短语的用法与区别
5. at last & in the end最终，最后
异同之处：at last和in the end都可以表示“最后，最终”，两者有细微的差别。atlast指经过等待、周折，终于得到结果，而in the end只表示结局，还可用于将来时。
例1：At last, the man with an outstanding performance was promoted to manager.
最终，那个业绩很突出的男士被提升为经理。
结构分析：At last是状语,the man with an outstanding performance是主语（with an outstanding performance是介词词组作后置定语），was promoted是谓语，to manager是主语补语。
例2：Those who keep saving will live an easy life in the end. (6月六级)
保持节约的人最终会过着安逸的生活。
结构分析：Those who keep saving是主语（who keep saving是定语从句，修饰those），will live是谓语，an easy life是宾语， in the end是状语。
6. at once & right away立刻，马上
异同之处：at once和right away都是常用的副词词组，一般用在句中或者句尾修饰动词，相当于副词immediately,同义词组还有without delay。
例1：I telephoned him at once to fix up a meeting.
我立刻打电话约他见面。
例2：I think you ought to see a doctor right away about that cough. (12月四级)
我想你应该立即去看医生治疗咳嗽。
作业短语：be afraid of & be frightened of害怕异同之处：be afraid of和be frightened of用法一致，of是介词，后面跟让人恐惧或者害怕的人或者事物。同义短语还有bescared of, have a dread of。
例1：Kids should learn not to be afraid of monsters. (12月四级)
