Scrap pricesin the US domestic market have dropped again in September after increasing only once during the summer, in August,Kallanishnotes.
尽管预计价格不会上涨，但大多数美国市场参与者乐观地认为，随着假期过后钢厂的废钢需求增加，9月废钢价格可能会维持在当前水平。
Although there were no expectations for an increase, most US players were optimistic that scrap prices could maintain existing levels in September, as mills increase scrap demand following the holidays.
然而，由于国内成品钢材市场交易活动低迷，以及出口市场废钢价格不断下跌，钢厂的询价低于预期。因此，根据地区和质量的不同，价格降幅多达40美元/吨。目前美国中西部的重熔废钢HMS I价格为220-225美元/吨，低于8月的240-245美元/吨。
However, due to low trading activity in the local finished steel market and decreasing scrap prices in export markets, mills’ inquiries have been lower than expected.Consequently, depending on the region and quality, prices have decreased by upto $40/t. The current Midwest price forHMS I stands at $220-225/tdelivered, dropping from $240-245/t delivered in August.
在出口市场上，由于上周最大的出口目的地——土耳其废钢价格突然下跌，本就低迷的需求进一步下降。上周初，美国重熔废钢HMS 1&2 80:20的报价为270美元/吨cfr，但在上周后期，一笔波罗的海废钢交易以247美元/吨cfr成交后，美国报价失去意义。
On the export market, already-low demand has dropped further due to the sudden price decreases seen last week in the biggest export destination – Turkey. The ex-USoffer level for HMS 1&2 80:20, which stood at $270/t cfr at the beginning of last week, lost all meaning after an ex-Baltic deal was concluded at $247/tcfr towards the end of the week.
由于供应商倾向于观望和评估需求，现在还难以确定本周的价格，但目前美国东海岸的HMS 1&2 80:20报价为229-233美元/吨fob。不过，周一晚些时候达成的一笔波罗的海废钢交易将对美国价格施加更大压力，该交易中的HMS 1&2 80:20价格为240美元/吨cfr。
Although it is too early to set a price for this week, as suppliers prefer to wait and first gauge demand, current fob quotes for HMS 1&2 80:20 from the US EastCoast stand at $229-233/t. However, an ex-Baltic scrap deal concluded late on Monday will exert more pressure on US prices as HMS 1&2 80:20 in this deal was priced at $240/t cfr.
