《权力的游戏》第八季目前已经播到了第四集，而对于在第三集中被“二丫”手刃的“夜王”，粉丝们不无惋惜，很多粉丝甚至表示这可能是史上最可怜反派，被铺垫了八季，千里迢迢南下，没说一句话就死了。

对于“夜王之死”，其扮演者Vladimír Furdík也发表了自己的看法：
When Vladimír Furdík first learned the Night King, hisGame of Thronescharacter since Season 6, was going to die at the hands of Arya Stark in the show"s eighth and final season, a flurry of thoughts ran through his head.
当Vladimír Furdík（《权力的游戏》第六季之后“夜王”的扮演者）第一次听说“夜王”将于第八季死于Arya Stark之手时，他的脑子里迅速闪过这样的念头：
“I feel like, ‘Why? Don’t kill him! Let him go!’” Furdík said of his character’s death in an interview with BuzzFeed News.
“为什么要杀死夜王啊，放他一马吧！”Furdík在接受BuzzFeed采访时这样评论夜王之死。
Some fans have criticized the end of the Night King’s terror for lacking closure and further explanation of his backstory and possible motivations for attempting to destroy all of humanity. There are even theories that the Night King could have been a Stark or a Targaryen, but Furdík said he never gave his character’s backstory any real thought.
有些粉丝对“夜王”以这样的方式结束一生的情节表示批评，感觉收尾潦草，并没有对“夜王”的背景和他试图摧毁人类的动机进行解释。还有粉丝推测“夜王”可能曾经是Stark家族或者Targaryen家族的一员，不过扮演者Furdík表示他并没有深入去想“夜王”这个人物背后的故事。
Still, he wishes the Night King could have stuck around a bit longer, perhaps even all the way to the end.
不过，Furdík本希望“夜王”这个角色可以在剧集里撑久一点，最好是撑到全季结束。
“Maybe it would be a nice end to theGame of Thronesif he would win," Furdík said. "I think this would be, like, a big shock for everybody, yeah? If he sat on the Iron Throne.”
Furdík说：“如果‘夜王’能赢得冰与火的大决战，然后坐上“铁王座”成为最后的王，说不定是个不错的结局，因为这个结局可能会出乎所有人的意料。”
