半江桥

半江桥位于广东三水河口开发区江边,是三水区重点文物保护单位。河口以位当西、北、 三江汇流处。春夏期间,三江水涨,河口圩场街道被淹,秋冬两季河水低落,水面距岸较远,因此,无论水涨水落,船舶无法泊岸,旅客和货物的上落,必须靠小艇载至河中客轮或货轮,影响交通极大、商旅喊苦。1936年,广东第四路军总司令余汉谋拨款20万元,建河口军桥(原计划是作军运之用,后成为商旅交通之用)。桥为钢筋混凝土结构,宽3.8米;长237.5米,由江岸向南伸出至江心。江心终端建成三层,水涨时可从桥面上落,水浅时可在下层上落。建成后抗日战争烽火延及华南,河口失陷,此桥一直未作军运,成为一座规模较大的船舶码头。
