五氧化二氮化学式N2O5。白色斜方晶体；相对密度1.624(18℃),熔点30℃；47℃时分解。易潮解挥发，极不稳定，挥发时即分解为NO2和O2,有时随分解发生爆炸。固态时成为硝离子硝酸盐NO娚NO婣的结构，因而熔点很高。气体分子结构如右。溶于热水生成硝酸：N2O5+H2O─→2HNO3故称为硝酸酐。可用五氧化二磷使硝酸脱水或用臭氧氧化二氧化氮制得：2HNO3+P2O5─→N2O5+2HPO32NO2+O3─→N2O5+O2五氧化二氮为强氧化剂，可使氮氧化为二氧化氮，能与很多有机化合物激烈作用。
