国际海事委员会国际海事委员会（InternationalMaritimeCommittee，IMC），是促进海洋法实施的非政府间国际组织。1897年创立于比利时安特卫普。国际海事委员会的宗旨是通过各种适当的方式和活动促进国际间海商法、海事惯例和实践做法的统一。促进各国海商法协会的成立，并与其他具有相同宗旨的国际性协会或组织进行合作。具体包括：第一，促进海商法的实施，使国际海事安全发展；第二，建立海事仲裁委员会，研究处理成员国家间的争端问题；第三，制定海商法案。国际海事委员会创立以来，草拟了不少国际海事公约，并被国际社会接纳、生效，著名的如《约克•安特卫普规则》、《海上避碰规则》、《船舶碰撞中民事管辖权方面若干规定的国际公约》、《维斯比规则》等。国际海事委员会的组织机构包括：大会是国际海事委员会的权力机构，由所有国际海委员会的成员组成。大会设主席一人、副主席以及执行秘书长、行政秘书长和财务主任。执行委员会是国际海事委员会的业务执行机构。该委员会目前由澳大利亚、比利时、加拿大、美国、德国等30多个国家的海商法协会团体会员及个人会员组成。其会员资格向从事海事商业活动的人（个人和团体）或者海商法专家开放，申请加入的组织其宗旨或宗旨之一应符合国际海事委员会的宗旨。
