兰州理工大学现代网络教育学院现代网络教育学院，于2002年12月在原"网络信息中心"的基础上成立的，学院目前为副处级建制，由袁占亭校长直接领导，计划编制24人，下设"网络信息中心"、"网络教育中心"、"网络培训中心"、"网络实验室"、"多媒体技术中心"、"综合办公室"6个部门及"cisco网络技术学院"和"数字工大管理办公室"，学院主体职能是：负责学校校园主干网的运行管理，信息资源服务，数字校园应用与办公自动化系统的设计、开发、日常管理维护，配合学校信息化领导小组协调各院系的信息化建设工作；负责校内外人员网络技术的培训；负责电子课件制作和多媒体技术的开发，计划成立网络大学，实行远程网络教育和办学，计划招收全日制、计划内"计算机网络与信息安全"本科专业。网络学院也是我校相关学科的研究生培养和实践基地建设。我校校园网于1996年底与cernet中国教育科研网相连，学校通过1999年、2001年二期校园网工程的建设，实现了校园内教学楼、实验楼、图书馆、办公楼的网络连接，覆盖了校园的主要区域，并初步完成了校内各部门的信息建设，实现了internet主要服务功能。2002年进行第三期校园网工程建设，完成了东、西校区的1000m光纤互联，完成了教工住宅楼、附属中学、大学生活动中心的网络布线工程；将由国家投资800万元进行"西部校园网建设"，工程完成后我校校园网终端接点将达到6000多个，并覆盖距离4.5公里的西校区，主干为4节点的1000m环形网，广域网1000m接入cernet。学校将投资78万元，安装200部ip电话和覆盖全校的无线网。经过几年建设，校园网能够提供各种类型的公共信息应用系统，如www、ftp、邮件系统、视频点播系统等，为学校信息化建设奠定了良好的基础；校园网拥有3000多用户接入端口，对外连接带宽达到了200m，在网络覆盖面、带宽、可靠性等方面都可以较好地满足用户的需求上。在网络管理方面，开发了校园网用户管理与计费系统，大大提高了网络管理水平和效率；并与教务处合作开发了智能教育信息管理系统，现在可以通过校园网完成：学生教师注册、培养计划、新生分班、选课选教、学分管理、成绩管理、评教等功能。这些系统在各单位的通力合作下，得到不断完善。已投入运行，对学校的教学管理等起到很好的推动作用。目前正在开发的"统一认证系统"和"基础资源库"将成为"数字工大"项目的有力支撑平台。我校的办公自动化系统是于2000年8月从清华大学引进的，学校领导对此事高度重视，以信息化领导小组牵头成立了oa系统工作小组，全面负责总体协调和实施。2001年元月1日oa系统在全校范围内开始试运行，网上办公和传统办公并行操作，通过半年多的运行，各信息员已基本掌握oa系统各项功能，能熟练操作，学校各部门能积极配合发布信息，广大干部和教师在网上积极查阅学校有关文件、通知，并利用办公自动化系统传递信息。办公自动化系统通过几年的运行，极大提高了学校办公效率，并为我校全面网上办公奠定了坚实的基础。现代网络教育学院环境幽雅，装备齐全。拥有一个面积60余平米的主机房，放置校园网主干设备、服务器、工作站；两个放置60余台高档微机的培训机房。在本世纪初，网络学院全体成员将携手把校园网建成一个全校范围的、高速的、开放的、分布的、多媒体的信息基础设施，使校园计算机网进一步实用化，并在教学、科研、管理中发挥重要作用。
