大地水准面大地水准面geoid一个假想的与静止海水面相重合的重力等位面，以及这个面向大陆底部的延伸面。它是高程测量中正高系统的起算面。青岛市国家基准点大地水准面同地球表面形状十分接近，又具有明显的物理意义，所以把大地水准面作为地球形状的研究对象。大地水准面不是一个简单的数学曲面，无法在其上直接进行测量和数据处理。大地水准面与地球椭球面极为近似，大地测量计算、研究大地水准面都以参考椭球面或平均地球椭球面为参考面。大地水准面是起伏的它同平均地球椭球面或参考椭球面之间的距离都称为大地水准面差距，前者是绝对的，也是唯一的；后者是相对的，随所采用的参考椭球面不同而不同。大地水准面到平均椭球面间的距离，最大数值在±100米左右。利用全球重力异常按斯托克斯积分公式计算，还可利用卫星雷达测高方法确定。大地水准面到参考椭球面的距离，采用天文大地测量和重力测量数据推算。
