垂直发射系统[英文缩写]：VLS[英文]：vertical launching system[解释]： 舰载导弹是舰艇防空、反舰和反潜的主要武器,早期都是倾斜发射的。这种发射方式的主要缺点,一是作战时,发射装置通常要转向目标来的方向,反应时间长；二 是发射装置占用面积较大,大舰最多装2～3个,小型舰艇只有一个,每个发射装置上导弹数量,少的一枚,最多 的8枚,发射完了之后,重新装弹更费时间,影响舰艇的火力；三是发射装置暴露在甲板上,作战中很容易被打坏 。针对上述问题,美国在80年代为舰载导弹研制了两种垂直发射系统MK41和MK48,其中MK41可发射多种导弹,MK48仅用 于发射舰空导弹。下面以MK41为例说明什么是垂直发射系统。MK41采用模块式结构,标准模块是一个有8个发射管 的导弹舱,每管装一枚导弹。导弹舱安装在军舰的甲板下,上端与甲板基本取平。每艘军舰所装导弹舱的数量 视甲板的可用空间而定。例如,在“提康德罗加”级巡洋舰上,首尾各有8个导弹舱；在“阿利·伯克”级驱逐 舰,舰首有4个导弹舱,舰尾有8个。在舰首和舰尾的导弹舱中,各有一个舱腾出3个发射管的位置,安装可伸缩 的臂式起重机,用于重新装弹或吊走故障弹。这样,上述两种舰每艘舰的载弹量分别为122枚和90枚,其中有“标 准”舰空导弹、“阿斯洛克”反潜导弹和“战斧”巡航导弹。根据要打击的目标,由发射控制系统选择弹种,指 令某一枚导弹发射,反应时间仅4秒,而且可打击来自任何方向的目标。MK41目前已装备美国“提康德罗加”级巡 洋舰、“阿利·伯克”级和“斯普鲁恩斯”级驱逐舰, 日本的“金刚”级驱逐舰和加拿大的“易洛魁人”级驱 逐舰也安装了MK41垂直发射系统。除了美国以外,以色列的“巴拉克”导弹、英国的“海狼”导弹和俄罗斯的SA-N-6 、SA-N-9导弹都已采用垂直发射系统。
