实验教学法学生在教师的指导下，使用一定的设备和材料，通过控制条件的操作过程，引起实验对象的某些变化，从观察这些现象的变化中获取新知识或验证知识的教学方法。在物理、化学、生物、地理和自然常识等学科的教学中，实验是一种重要的方法。一般实验是在实验室、生物或农业实验园地进行的。有的实验也可以在教室里进行。实验法是随着近代自然科学的发展兴起的。现代科学技术和实验手段的飞跃发展，使实验法发挥越来越大的作用。通过实验法，可以使学生把一定的直接知识同书本知识联系起来，以获得比较完全的知识，又能够培养他们的独立探索能力、实验操作能力和科学研究兴趣。它是提高自然科学有关学科教学质量不可缺少的条件。实验法因实验的目的和时间不同，可分为：学习理论知识前打好学习基础的实验；学习理论知识后验证性的实验和巩固知识的实验。因进行实验组织方式的不同，可分为：小组实验和个别独立实验。在现代教学中，为了加强学生能力的培养，更加重视让学生独立地设计和进行实验。实验法的运用，一般要求：①教师事前做充分准备，进行先行实验，对仪器设备、实验材料要仔细检查，以保证实验的效果和安全。②在学生实验开始前，对实验的目的和要求、依据的原理、仪器设备安装使用的方法、实验的操作过程等，通过讲授或谈话作充分的说明，必要时进行示范，以增强学生实验的自觉性。③小组实验尽可能使每个学生都亲自动手。④在实验进行过程中,教师巡视指导，及时发现和纠正出现的问题，进行科学态度和方法的教育。⑤实验结束后，由师生或由教师进行小结，并由学生写出实验报告。
