潮流潮波内水体的水平流动。通常把潮位上升过程中发生的海水水平流动叫涨潮流,而把潮位下降过程中发生的水平流动叫落潮流。海洋中处处都有潮流,但在海峡、水道或湾口等处的潮流,由于沿岸和海底地形等因素的影响,流速较大。以杭州湾乍浦西南为例,可达7~8节左右(1节等于1海里/时)。潮流和潮位变化,是潮波运动过程的两个方面。在一般情况下,潮流与潮位的变化相对应;但个别地点的潮流与潮位的变化并不对应。例如,在全日潮的无潮点附近,潮流为全日潮流,而潮位却是半日潮类型。然而,大多数地点,潮位为半日潮,潮流也是半日潮;潮位为全日潮,潮流也是全日潮,并有类似的各种不等现象。从海水的水平流动的形式来看,可把潮流分为旋转潮流和往复潮流,也可分为半日潮流和全日潮流等类型,并有各种不等现象(见海洋潮汐)。旋转潮流和往复潮流 因为潮波的每一分潮(见潮汐调和分析)的水质点轨迹,都为椭圆,所以在广阔海区的潮流,既有流速的变化,而且流向也沿一定方向不断旋转,这种潮流称为旋转潮流。但是在海峡、水道和狭窄港湾的潮波,因受地形的限制,椭圆变得很窄,因而水体大致在一个水平方向往复运动,这种潮流称为往复潮流。对于往复潮流来说,当涨潮流和落潮流交替时,海水在短时间内几乎停止流动(流速小于0.1节),称为憩流。无论半日潮流或者全日潮流等类型,都可能有旋转潮流和往复潮流。实际的潮流甚为复杂。有些海域的潮流,速度矢量端点的联线(速矢端迹)与椭圆相近(图1)。图中矢量端点的数字为从格林威治的月中天时刻算起的小时数,负的代表在月中天时刻之前,正的代表在月中天时刻之后。有些海域的潮流速矢端迹与椭圆相差甚大(图2)。 对于半日潮流,周期平均为12时25分。在每半个月中,潮流以朔望后约两天最强,上下弦后约两天最弱。对于全日潮流来说,周期平均为24时50分,流速随月球赤纬而改变:在赤纬达最大值后约两天,流速最大;在赤纬为零时,流速最小。潮流和潮汐的对应关系 通常指潮流的流向转换(转流) 和最大流速同高潮和低潮时刻的关系。若潮波呈前进波性质,则转流发生在高潮和低潮的中间时刻,最大流速出现在高潮和低潮时刻附近,例如中国的舟山定海附近,在高潮和低潮之后约两小时出现转流。若潮波呈驻波性质,则转流发生在高潮和低潮时刻附近,最大流速出现在高潮和低潮的中间时刻。中国很多海港,如塘沽新港和连云港等,其潮流都属于这种类型。潮流铅直分布 在大多数海区,除近底层外,潮流速度的铅直梯度比较小,不同深处的流向也比较接近,尤其是水道和海峡的潮流,上下层的流向几乎相同。但是有些地点,潮流的各层流速和流向不同,特别是流速的差异更为明显,其最大流速常出现在海面下约3米处,而最小流速则出现在底层,这是由于海底摩擦作用的结果。潮流最大流速出现的时刻,以底层为最早,这也是底层摩擦最大的缘故。
