广东省立中山图书馆广东省立中山图书馆位于广州市文明路，是我国大型综合性公共图书馆之一。馆址闹中含静、交通便捷；位于广州市文德路的分馆孙中山文献馆雍容恬静、古色古香。广东省立中山图书馆创建于19，前身是明代羊城胜迹“南园”，后为清代广雅书局藏书楼，其中的“抗风轩”为孙中山早年从事革命活动的秘密据点。该馆历史悠久，典藏丰富，在海内外闻名遐迩。广东省立中山图书馆是省级综合性公共图书馆，是服务性、学术性文化机构，是广东省的总书库。广东省立中山图书馆是全省文献编目中心、图书馆信息网络中心。履行搜集、加工、存储、研究、利用和传播知识信息的职责。研究和采用现代技术，在全省图书馆标准化、规范化、数字化、网络化建设中起骨干作用。承担着为党政军领导机关，重点科研、教育、生产单位和社会公众服务的任务；负责全省图书馆业务辅导，开展图书馆学研究。广东省立中山图书馆九十年来形成了自己鲜明的办馆特色：一、丰富的馆藏典籍，以富藏地方文献为特征；二、优质的读者服务，以大面积开架、多元化服务、最大限度满足读者需求为标志；三、先进的技术设备，以检索自动化、文献电子化、传输网络化，实现信息资源共享为目标；四、积极的文献开发，以建立区域文献信息中心为方向；五、活跃的公共关系，以创造文化品牌、增值无形资产为宗旨。为推动我省人才培养、文化建设和社会进步提供思想保证、智力支持和精神动力作出重大贡献。内设阅览室20多个，包括中文图书、中文期刊、中文报纸、外文图书、外文报刊、中文工具书、文献检索、港澳台图书、图书馆学资料、地方文献、善本、缩微、自带书刊等阅览室，每天开放13.5个小时，一周开放84.5小时，平均每天接待读者6,000～8,000人次，是全国开放时间最长，接待读者最多的省级公共图书馆之一。2001、2002年连续两年接待读者均超过300万人次，流通图书超过600万册次，位于全国第一、二位。书刊借阅以开架为主，全面采用计算机管理，并为读者提供cd—rom光盘数据库的电脑检索和咨询服务，读者可直接上机检索馆藏文献资料。截止2002年底，广东省立中山图书馆藏书385多万册件，其中新旧平装书260余万册；线装古籍38.5万册；外文图书20万 册；中外文期刊2.6万种38万册；中外文报纸2400种，13万册。广东省立中山图书馆历来重视地方文献的收集整理工作，目前已积累了9万多种，30多万册。在这些珍贵的文献中，较突出的有广东新旧地方志2600种，新旧族谱900余种，其中明嘉靖黄佐《广东通志》七十卷是国内罕见的版本，民国《续广东通志》则是未经刊行的稿本，以及孙中山文献、南海诸岛和海南岛、东南亚史料、华侨资料、清史、金石、与图等专藏。在地方文献开发方面，该馆出版了《广东近现代人物词典》、《潮汕文献书目提要》、《客家文献书目》和《广州文献书目提要》、《广东百年图录》等，并建立起《广东地方文献图书》、《广东地方文献报刊》、《孙中山文献》等地方文献数据库，使馆藏地方文献得以藏用并举。广东省立中山图书馆致力于开拓各类信息服务。报刊信息开发中心以“开发国际信息，服务经济决策”为宗旨，对馆藏海外中文报刊信息源进行有重点的深层次开发，编辑出版以宏观经济政治信息为主的《决策内参》，为各级领导和决策机关提供高质量、高水平的信息服务，《决策内参》机读版由广东省政府指定进入“省、市长信息服务网络”，成为广东省信息高速公路“全省统一大网络核心网络平台”的重要信息源之一。与《决策内参》齐名的还有《文化内参》和《警界参考》。同时该中心开设了近50个服务专题，报道市场动态，传递商务行情，将信息工作的重点放在广州及珠江三角洲一带的企业上，先后为太阳神集团、健力宝公司、今日集团等大型企业提供优质和及时的信息服务。
